3 Days from Marrakech to Erg Chigaga

Programme

DAY 1: MARRAKECH – AIT BENHADDOU – DRAA VALLEY – M’HAMID

Depart early and journey through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tichka Pass (2,260 m), enjoying stunning views of valleys, landscapes, and Berber villages.
Visit several kasbahs, including the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou, a well-preserved 16th-century kasbah featured in numerous Hollywood films.
Continue through the Draa Valley, lined with date palms and traditional villages.
Arrive in M’Hamid for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 2: M’HAMID – SACRED OASIS – ERG CHIGAGA SAND DUNES

Enjoy breakfast before a 2-hour camel ride into the Sahara Desert.
Stop for lunch in M’Hamid, followed by a 4×4 drive through stunning desert landscapes.
Visit the sacred oasis for a traditional Berber tea experience.
Arrive at the Erg Chigaga dunes, towering 300m high and spanning 40km.
Witness a breathtaking sunset and enjoy a lively dinner with entertainment around a campfire.

DAY 3: ERG CHIGAGA SAND DUNES – FOUM ZGUID – TAZNAKHT – MARRAKECH

Wake early to watch the sunrise over the dunes and enjoy breakfast.
Travel by 4×4 along the old Paris-Dakar road, passing the dried Iriqui Lake.
Stop for lunch in the Berber village of Taznakht, known for its traditional carpet weaving.
Return to Marrakech via scenic desert routes, arriving around 6:30 PM.
