The studio

Seven people, one country

We arrange private journeys across Morocco. We are small on purpose and we intend to stay that way.

How this started

It began with doing it badly

The studio exists because of a trip that went wrong. A friend family came to Morocco on a package built by someone who had never driven the route: four hours in a minibus to a camp fifty metres from a car park, a guide reading from a script, a rug shop at the end of every day.

We spent the following year working out what the good version looked like – which meant driving every road ourselves, sleeping in the rooms, and finding the guides who were already doing it properly and were tired of being treated as interchangeable.

Ten years on, the structure has not changed much. Seven of us, an office off Rue Dar el Bacha, and a deliberate limit on how many journeys we run at once.

Guides from the region they work
What we hold to

Four things we will not trade away

Local guides, always

Every guide works in the region they are from. A Marrakchi does not lead in Fes, however good their English.

No commission shops

We take nothing from any shop, cooperative or atelier we introduce you to, and our guides are paid enough not to need it.

Honest seasons

We will tell you not to come in August, and we will not send you to a desert camp in a month we would not sleep in one.

One point of contact

The person who plans your journey is the person who answers when something goes wrong at midnight.

The people

Who you will actually deal with

Three planners in Marrakech, two drivers who have been with us since the start, and two people who do everything else. Our guides are self-employed and we have worked with most of them for the better part of a decade.

This page is where the team photographs and short biographies belong – names, roles, and the thing each person is unreasonably knowledgeable about.

Send us the team names, roles and photographs and this section fills out properly. We have left it honest rather than inventing colleagues.

In their words

What travellers say

Client quote goes here - two or three sentences in their own words about how the journey was planned and what stayed with them.
Client name
Journey taken, year
A second quote, ideally from a different kind of traveller: a family, a couple, a group of friends.
Client name
Journey taken, year
A third, shorter quote works well here. One strong sentence is better than a paragraph.
Client name
Journey taken, year

Layout placeholder. These slots are reserved for real client words – send us the quotes you have permission to publish and they go straight in, names and journeys included.

Start a conversation

Tell us what you want from Morocco

Every journey we arrange begins with a conversation rather than a brochure. Tell us when you can travel, how you like to move, and what you would rather avoid – we will come back with a route, not a quote.
